It sure was a lot of work, but the end result is totally worth it.
Looking for a fun craft that is actually quite easy? Japanese felt craft may be the answer to satisfy your craft craving. These felt crafts are sewn by hand and you can find instructions for creating cakes, pastries, sushi...pretty much every type of food imaginable. I'm not sure why most Japanese felt crafts focus on food, but I do know that the end result is surprisingly realistic and absolutely adorable! Here's a quick demonstration showing the creation of a strawberry feltcake.
There are amazing illustrated instruction books available (I get mine through Ebay from a reliable seller - Charmingbabe) that are simple and easy to follow - even though the instructions are written in Japanese. The end result looks so good, that it truly is worth the time it takes to create.
